Chrome 63 - Column and Report Header Maintenance cannot function properly

Modified on Thu, 28 Dec, 2017 at 1:20 PM

We have discovered that Column Maintenance and Report Header Footer Maintenance within ReportFYI do not work properly in the latest version of Google Chrome, Version 63. The popup windows within these function areas do not display correctly. Column and Report Header/Footer Maintenance of ReportFYI work properly in Chrome 62 and continue to work in Edge, IE11 and FireFox.  We observed this issue impacts version 6.x of ReportFYI and we believe it also affects clients running on older versions of ReportFYI.

We are working urgently to provide a resolution to this issue.

In the meantime, we recommend stopping the automatic upgrade of Chrome to version 63 or use another browser.  There are a couple methods to stop a client machine from upgrading automatically to the latest Chrome, depending on access to the Registry, Corporate Group Policies, etc., instructions to prevent Chrome updates are readily available online.  If using Internet Explorer, please follow the instructions shown below for required compatibility settings:

  1. Open Internet Explorer
  2. Hit F-10
  3. Tools
  4. Compatibility View Settings
  5. Display intranet sites in Compatibility View – should be unchecked.
  6. Display all websites in Compatibility View – should be unchecked.
  7. The URL to the Report Writer Should not be added to the middle box

We have completed a fix for the issue Chrome 63 introduced and have a series of files available. Patches are available and attached for the following ReportFYI versions:

6.3

6.2

5.5

5.0

In each case the zip file contains two aspx files that need to be replaced in the main web directory.
